“Classy environment and great staff in a premium location.”
The building feels modern and well maintained, and the common areas are a nice spot to relax. We even hit up the sky bar and enjoyed the view from the 33rd floor, though the cocktails were mediocre. The room was roomy, had comfy pillows, and was spotless. The hotel takes cleanliness seriously; if they can’t clean a room, they call you to arrange another time. The bathroom featured a Japanese bidet with a warm seat, and the bathtub was large with strong water pressure that fills quickly. The common areas also had Japanese bidets. Staff were always ready to help with heavy items or any request (we even borrowed a corkscrew). They don’t expect tips and won’t even accept them. Their English is solid. The highlight was the late‑checkout situation: my flight left in the evening, so I booked an extra night to stay past checkout and rest. The staff were puzzled why I’d “waste” money on a night I wouldn’t use, but after some back‑and‑forth they understood and offered to refund the night I wouldn’t stay and waived the late‑checkout fee. I can’t remember the last time I saw such customer service. On the downside, the hotel charged a deposit of about 300 EUR at check‑in, supposedly for services like the spa, restaurants, and bars, and it was reimbursed after check‑out. I didn’t mind the practice and used a few services, but a heads‑up would have been appreciated so we’d know the booking price isn’t the final price.
