The building is an attractive old structure with potential. The room and hotel featured some nice furniture and were mostly in good condition. I was lucky to get a narrow single bed with a traditional mattress that was reasonably comfortable. The double bed’s slippery, shiny rubber‑coated mattress was uncomfortable. The bathroom functioned fine. Breakfast was adequate, though the cold scrambled eggs were not very appealing. Looking out of the breakfast room’s windows, the courtyard below was neglected and damp, littered with a few sad plants. This area could be a highlight of the hotel, but right now it’s unattractive and seems to be a breeding ground for many small insects that probably find their way into rooms because the windows don’t close properly—only one quarter of the windows can be opened, making it dark during the day. The location isn’t ideal; it’s at the end of the avenue, away from the city, so it’s a long walk to the center. Also, the reception staff are behind security windows, which isn’t a great first impression.
