Hotel Istra was fantastic; I value hotel hygiene a lot and they delivered on that, right in the heart of Varaždin so I could stroll in and out with ease. The staff were exceptionally kind. We booked a room with a double bed and a TV‑tub, everything needed was there. If you’re someone who wants luxury and a bed that sings, a bathtub that talks, and lights that turn off when you’re in the shower, this isn’t the hotel for you. I was very surprised and whenever I go to Varaždin I’ll head straight to Hotel Istra.

The place has a great location and the staff were courteous; breakfast was hearty and tasty, but the parking situation for guests was a bit problematic.
