The Falstaff, a 1403-built coaching inn, stands near Canterbury's medieval West Gate. Oak beams and an open log fire remain, while free WiFi and limited parking are available. Rooms feature TVs, tea and coffee facilities, and ironing services. A full English breakfast and cocktail bar with local drinks are offered. Canterbury West Rail Station and the Norman cathedral are within walking distance.

The location is great, and the staff—especially at the bar—are very friendly and top drawer; the margaritas are fantastic. Parking costs a bit more than I’d like, but the Ringo app on my phone made it easier.

This hotel feels so characteristic and atmospheric, with cosy rooms in a prime spot. Our room was in the historic part of the hotel, feeling cosy and beautiful, fully equipped with all the amenities and tasteful décor. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. There’s a bar and plenty of nice seating areas if you want to step out of your room. The location is just a 5‑minute walk from Canterbury West station and another 5‑10 minutes from Canterbury centre. Nothing to complain about!

The room was comfortable and convenient, and the breakfast was lovely. The only downside was that the room felt hot.

Lovely Cosy Double room, very stylish, beautiful bathroom, everything very clean. Great ambience in the public areas of the hotel with its eclectic decor and good lighting. Excellent and plentiful breakfast with the cooked dish prepared to perfection. The staff were very friendly. We have stayed here before and will stay here again when next in Canterbury
