The location, food and staff were great, but the bathroom ceiling was low, the bedroom was small, and the central heating pipes made a noisy hiss at night.

We appreciated the quiet downstairs room in the courtyard, though in summer the pub’s patio outside made it a bit noisy; breakfast had no menu, so we had to guess what would be offered, and when we asked for fruit or yoghurt the first morning none were available, though they appeared the next day; evening meals were listed on a menu and were acceptable.

“Welcoming stay in a nice room”

The staff and manager were very welcoming, the room had tasteful décor, breakfast was excellent, and the location was convenient for our needs, but it was somewhat noisy because the room was downstairs, with late‑night and early‑morning occupants; we would have preferred an upstairs room, and the stairs creak a lot as do the upstairs floorboards, though the building’s age is charming; despite the quieter room being preferable, it didn’t ruin the stay and we would definitely return, perhaps asking for an upstairs room, and the cost was slightly higher than our usual rate.

“Stayed to attend a wedding, great location, everything we needed lovely stay, thank you.”

The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was lovely, and our room next to the courtyard was very nice because the weather was great.
