The photos were totally misleading, probably taken around 15 years ago. Cinnamon dust covered the whole apartment and the odor was awful. There was no water pressure and the temperature felt colder than warm. The place was basic and clearly needed maintenance, and the air conditioning couldn't even cool the room, even on turbo.

The villa was cozy, located in a residential area far from train tracks and roads, so no noise from restaurants or traffic. The beach Narigama was a 7‑minute walk away, and the Turtle beach was 15‑20 minutes on foot. The owners were very pleasant and responsive, always trying to help with any questions. The Wi‑Fi was excellent for work. I stayed in a room on the second floor with a small balcony that the monkeys visited in the mornings. The room was cozy and tidy, though the renovation felt worn compared to another villa I had stayed at before. Breakfast was tasty and filling: tea/coffee, fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, sausages, buttered toast with jam, and fruit. There was a small pool where I relaxed once after a tour. It was clean, and after 3 pm it was shaded. The only downside was that the room had only two power outlets—one in the bathroom and one by the window—making it inconvenient to charge my phone. The shower in the bathroom had a fixed spray head with no hose. At night and in the morning, monkeys could walk on the roof and wake you up. Nearby, a small monastery had a monk chanting mantras at 6 am, which could disturb light sleepers. These minor issues didn't really affect my stay; I noted them for information.

The villa was very beautiful and quiet, run by a very kind and accommodating family. The rooms were pleasantly large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and varied. The beach was reachable within 10 minutes on foot. It was far enough from the main road and train tracks. The hosts organized Tuk Tuk rides or transfers immediately. The pool was large and offered a nice cooling break. Overall, a great accommodation with a super friendly host family.
