The location is excellent and the view from the room is beautiful. However, the room and bathroom fixtures feel old and worn, and the breakfast was unappealing.

Hotel Santa Lucia Le Sabbie d'Oro sits 2 km from Cefalù’s historic centre, offering direct access to a private sandy beach. All air‑conditioned classic rooms feature flat‑screen TVs, private bathrooms with hairdryers, and some are adapted for limited mobility. Guests enjoy a daily sweet‑and‑savory buffet, an on‑site restaurant, pool‑side bar, and convenient transport links: a 5‑minute drive to the train station and bus stops just 50 m away.

The exterior and location are fine. I strongly advise against staying here. The room and furnishings are clearly old, outdated, and worn out. The sheets even had holes, showing a serious lack of attention to detail and basic hygiene. The bathroom was the worst: dated with a constantly leaking shower that flooded the floor each time. There was also a complete lack of soundproofing; the nearby railway and inadequate windows made every train’s passage audible, making rest impossible. The breakfast was also very poor in variety and overall quality, and the coffee was unpalatable. The value for money is unacceptable. The property desperately needs renovation and better management.

I can’t rate the breakfast because I checked out early. I received a package with water and jam. I really disliked the front‑desk staff who kept my passport because they couldn’t handle guest check‑ins. I travel a lot, and nowhere else does it happen like this.

It’s too far from the beach, but the balcony and roof offer a great view.

We found the hotel’s location good: five minutes (over 100 steps) to the beach, which is just under 2 km from Cefalù’s old town, yet you can see the historic centre and the rock above all day. The beach section is quieter. The hotel is large, so dining space isn’t an issue. There’s a huge, nice bar, but it wasn’t operating during our stay in early October. The pool is appealing. A supermarket is close by. The hotel is aging and not all systems work properly. We almost bet on the bathtub tap to last until we left; it did, but the door lock failed and was quickly and professionally fixed. Parts of the path to the beach are quite worn.
