The staff were friendly, the overall environment clean, the location convenient, parking ample, and the handmade plant displays were cute and soothing. After the 0403 earthquake, Hualien’s crowds dropped sharply; I hope more people visit to support local businesses.

The room was spacious, clean, and seemed well‑maintained, and the free parking in the city center is a great perk. There’s also a driftwood succulent activity, and the finished pieces can be taken home. The room’s soundproofing is a bit lacking because it faces the street, but there were few cars at night, so I slept fine. If you stay, be sure to walk in the park opposite the guesthouse; the scenery is pretty good.
