The cleaning was thorough and overall the place was clean. I couldn’t quite figure out how to use the futon sheets.

The place was very clean with good facilities. The location felt a bit odd.

It was cheap, maybe? I wanted to pay in dollars with a credit card, but they demanded cash anyway, and there was an extra accommodation tax. (*Kitakyushu City)
I drove to Saga and back, and although I was in a car, I found a nearby parking spot easily. The bed was on the upper level, which was a bit tiring.
The place still feels like a classic guesthouse, and being close to Kokura Station made sightseeing easy. Most Japanese guesthouses and hostels are newer and cleaner, but this one isn’t particularly clean or modern. If you’re used to overseas dorms, you might not mind, but otherwise staying at a cyber cafe would be better.
