“Warm private cottage on a chateau”
We had a quiet stay at a working wine château. We were given a private cabin on a pond with a fire pit on the pier, which was magical. A full kitchen let us cook dinners after a day touring châteaux. One night I even grilled a steak over the fire pit. Since there are no coffee shops nearby, we opted for the host’s breakfasts delivered in a basket to our door. Very quiet, private, and dark—perfect for stargazing at night. Heat came from a wood stove, but we never used it in May. The open‑floor design made the shower open. Great for couples. A huge grocery/market is just down the road, about 1 km away. Loved it all.
