The accommodation is in a quiet spot outside the busy village of Bandarawela. The hosts are very hospitable; every evening after my hikes they offered me a cup of good tea. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are soft. The bathroom has a hot shower. There is no fan or air‑conditioning in the room because we’re at 1200 metres in the mountains. Breakfast is plentiful: you can choose between a Western or local menu. Next to the property is a restaurant that serves huge dishes and a mini‑market. The only downside was the weather – it rained a lot during my stay.

The hosts were very kind, but the sheets were not great.

The host was very friendly and hospitable, yet the entrance was so narrow and the room was right next to the living area where a bit of religious chanting from the TV was a distraction.
