We had a fantastic few days in Cartagena staying at Elvis’s bright, cozy hostel. The bed was comfortable and everything was spotless, and when the heat rose the fans in the rooms – plus the hammocks outside – kept things tolerable. Elvis himself is always smiling and eager to help, which added a lot of charm. The only drawback is that the city centre isn’t within walking distance, though there are plenty of buses, and the daytime heat can be a bit intense.
