“Arrived late after delayed Ferry sailing, key left out for us and heat punp on.”

The older motel was in good, tidy condition, its bathroom had been refurbished and the shower was excellent. Towels were changed daily. It didn’t have many extra features, but it had character and was well maintained.

The place was clean, check‑in was easy at 10 pm, the bed was firm, and the location was good. It was a bit loud because it sits on the main road, and I could hear other guests in nearby units.

The location was convenient, the bed was comfortable and clean, and there was a heat pump for warmth plus an electric blanket on the bed. The facilities – kitchen, bathroom, table, etc. – were very old and worn; the first impressions didn’t inspire confidence when I arrived.

“Relaxing extended stsy”

I booked on short notice after having to leave a totally awful illegal dwelling I’d previously booked. I was more than happy with Otaki Motel: it was quiet, comfortable, had everything I needed, and the toiletries and plunge coffee were nice. Plenty of towels and fresh bedding made it a great value. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the nearby spots to visit Levin and Waikanae that day, so much so that I booked an extra night. I recommend it for its value and will return. No complaints; as others have noted, some things are a bit dated, but I’m a retro fan and cleanliness is the main drawcard, which this place delivered.
