The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the bus and train stations, and there are plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants nearby. The room was cramped and the mattress felt uncomfortable.

Samenvatting van deze beoordeling
The customer service is very poor. I had to ask the host to please give me the entry code to the place 1 hour before check in. They simply forgot. No shower gel or soap provided. When asked they simply stated it’s not part of their amenities. After the stay I was asked to make another payment, even though I already paid. Booking was no help. I would not recommend staying here. You will get more problems than it’s worth

The room was clean and very comfortable, and because it was at the back, traffic noise didn’t disturb my sleep. The hospitality tray was refilled and the waste bin emptied daily. It’s very close to the station where most buses depart for other Lake District spots if you don’t want to drive or prefer to leave the winding country roads to the pros. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and an excellent supermarket nearby. On the day of my departure it was raining extremely hard and my train didn’t leave until lunchtime. Michelle kindly let me stay dry in the downstairs lounge for a few hours instead of trudging through the soggy streets, which was a lifesaver. I would definitely recommend it and would stay again! The only critique is that the stairs are steep and narrow, but that’s expected in a cottage of this age that wasn’t built for large suitcases.

The location next to the train station was great and the bed was very comfortable, but we found some old clothes in one drawer.

The location was great, but the towels never got changed throughout my stay.
