The welcome was perfect, the setting was exceptional with a beautiful building, a nice bathroom, and a great outdoor environment.

The ambience was terrific – the monks chanting gave a great vibe. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was fabulous, and the staff were friendly.

A stunning building with an authentic vibe, and the breakfast was excellent. The location right on the Loire was a real treat. My room was comfy, tucked in a monk cell with preserved décor and a view of the river. Parking was easy and free, and dogs were welcome. The downside was the many stairs and no elevator, plus our windows were dirty (though keeping such a building clean is tough). The reception felt a bit cold on our arrival night, and there was no air conditioning; we had to rely on electric heating when needed.
