The area around the hotel is gorgeous, with stunning scenery and a peaceful night where you only hear insects. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. However, the property felt a bit run down, especially in the season we visited. The outdoor pools were dirty, littered with leaves, dead insects, and a greasy film on the surface. Broken tiles along the edges could have caused cuts, and the stone area around the pool was uncomfortable to walk on. No sunbeds were available, only a few dirty, faded plastic chairs. The indoor spa‑style pool had similar cleanliness issues; the jets and jacuzzi didn’t work properly, and when the jets were on, dead insects burst from the pipes. The bedroom was acceptable but could have been cleaner; the bedsheets had stains, and the large room lacked storage. A damage list with prices for every item in the room seemed unwelcoming. The terrace was filthy, with uncomfortable chairs. The hotel’s isolation meant we had to eat there, and the food was the worst we’d had in Vietnam—seemed reheated, greasy, and one dish was inedible. The restaurant looked nice but was basic and unattractive. The surroundings were idyllic, but smoke and a burning smell from a nearby chimney were off‑putting, and a nearby refuse incineration plant ruined what could have been a perfect location.
