“Simple, central and quiet”

The view over the town was crystal clear, and the waterfall walk was just a short stroll away. With only three rooms, the place feels simple but every spot is within walking distance. The owner was friendly, and breakfast offered omelette or Nasi with a welcome cup of kopi and ginger tea. The sound of rushing water soothed us at night, making it peaceful. The ATM was conveniently located on the street. The garden and entryway could use a touch of upkeep, and a covered car blocks the view from room 1. The bathroom was a bit worn, yet the price was great and we were very happy with our two nights.

“Niet goed, dus besloten naar een andere accomodatie te gaan”

The property is close to Kelimutu and the view is nice. Unfortunately, there were many issues. The owner was absent, which made everything slow from the start. We had to wait for someone to come to us. A friendly woman spoke no English. Later, a family member sat with me, but I had to ask which room I had and if I could enter it. There were no towels, soap, toilet paper, and the room doors were all open, letting anything in, yet there were no mosquito nets. I got a towel from someone else. I thought I’d be unlucky with the power outage, but that’s common in the area. Consequently, there was no water, not even cold. Wi‑Fi was non‑existent, so calling it a facility is misleading. The door wouldn’t close properly, and with a rusty lock I had to ask someone to lock it from the outside. Since no one knew when the power would return, I booked another accommodation nearby, which had water. The staff likely have good intentions but couldn’t offer anything or solutions, and even after I left, no one noticed.

“Slecht!! Verschrikkelijk”

The experience was awful and disappointing; I would not recommend it at all. We booked a one‑night stay a week in advance but left immediately. Upon arrival, no one was present and we waited an hour under the awning. A woman who didn’t speak English offered us tea, saying we had to wait for someone else. Her family later joined us. There are three rooms, all with doors wide open. We had to ask if we could enter the room. Inside, there was no soap, toilet paper, towels, no mosquito net, and a moldy toilet seat. When we asked for a towel, the man waved it away, saying it would arrive later. We ended up buying soap at a nearby shop just to wash our hands. We discovered the door wouldn’t close or lock, with large gaps at the top and bottom. After getting soap, we found there was no water or electricity. I called the number listed; it was a different man, not the owner, who rode in on a scooter. He told us the owner was away for a traditional event and fetched towels from a neighboring house, but that wasn’t enough. This all led us to leave and find another place nearby that had water and basic amenities. We heard that power outages are common in the area and can last days or weeks. If you need reliable facilities, avoid this place.

The room is spacious enough for two people, has a private bathroom, and the location is nice, with the town’s only ATM right in front. Bugs were everywhere, jumping on the bed at night; they’re harmless but annoying. The bathroom had a strong smell of urine. Accessing the room required walking through tall, unmaintained grass. My room door was broken and wouldn’t close, so I had to ask someone to close it every time—very inconvenient. When I arrived, there was no electricity or water, forcing me to book another place on short notice and pay a premium. Electricity and water eventually returned later that evening, but I had already spent extra. After finally showering and going to bed at 11:30 pm, the neighbors played loud music outside past midnight. The bathroom ventilation made a lot of noise, and because there was no door, it was quite disturbing when trying to sleep.

The location is nice, close to restaurants and the volcano, with views of a rice field and the town. The shower was warm, but it was uncomfortable because of rocks. The room was very basic—no hand‑towel hook—and the water and waterfall behind made it noisy.
