The location is great and the staff are very friendly, but the pool could use better upkeep.

The place was nicely located, the rooms had proper beds and hot showers, and breakfast and the Sri Lankan food were good, but there were so few other guests that it felt a bit abandoned.

The Kara O’Mula Mulanje Hotel was one of the most beautiful hotels on our trip; the drive through the impressive Mulanje Massif was an experience in itself, with a steep road up into the mountains that rewarded us with spectacular views. The morning view from the bed over the plain, often shrouded in a gentle mist, was especially striking, and the sunsets were simply gorgeous and unforgettable. The hotel sits idly beside a small waterfall, has a nice pool, and blends perfectly into nature. The food was excellent, especially the curries—both chicken and vegetarian—which were among the best meals we had on the trip. The service was exceptional: the team was always attentive, warm, and incredibly helpful. When I found the mattress a bit hard, a softer one was arranged within 10 to 15 minutes, a speed and ease of help that is rarely experienced. Thank you for the warm hospitality; we felt at home from the moment we arrived and would come back anytime. Everything was excellent.

1-Ideal location and beautiful scenery. 1-Hostile and Unprofessional Staff Behaviour made feel unwelcome, disrespected, and unsafe. This suggests a cultural problem which is not an isolated incident but an accepted poor standard. These critical service failures highlight the absolute necessity of on-going employee development. Investing in robust, scenario-based programs is essential, and can explore the foundations of effective hospitality customer service training to build a team that consistently represents Hospitality values. 2-Limited flexibility in terms of mode of payments (e.g. TNM Mpamba only available, no Airtel mobile-money Option). The poor check-in and checkout experience at the front desk ought to be addressed to make it easy, flexible and localised
