Very central in Hongdae and very modern. The breakfast has potential but was okay.

Very good service. The location is excellent and convenient. The room layout – especially the bathroom that isn’t in the room – is odd at first, but we got used to it. Overall the experience was excellent.

“Excellent service but not up to our expectation for the price that we paid”

The place sits right in Hongdae, just a 3‑minute walk from exit 9 of Hongik University station on Line 2; if you’re not up for the steep stairs, exit 8 has a lift. We caught the DMZ tour that leaves from exit 3, which is an 8‑minute stroll to the meeting point. The tourist information centre is a block away and takes only 3 minutes to reach. Everyone on the staff was friendly, helpful, and most spoke fluent English. When we checked into room 907, we noticed a lot of black spots in the kettle after boiling water. We ran cold water for a few minutes and boiled again, but after at least four attempts the spots remained. The kettle was clean, so we suspected limescale, oxidised metal, or rust in the pipes; regardless, the hot water wasn’t drinkable. We also caught a tiny flying insect in the room. After showing the reception staff a photo of the insect and the black‑spot issue, they moved us to the 17th floor. We didn’t expect such hassles in a pricey 9th‑floor room. I hope the hotel resolves the water issue quickly. On top of that, tiny insects kept flying in the lobby lift.
