The welcome was a mix of French and Thai, the owners were very friendly, the small bungalow was simple but very clean with a little terrace overlooking a lovely pool in the middle of a tropical garden full of crickets, birds, and maybe, like us, you’ll get lucky and see the great hornbill. We found the bed really hard, as many places in Thailand do. The owner ordered us a mattress topper, honestly adorable, which you don’t find elsewhere. There are great scooter rentals on site if you want to explore the island, otherwise plenty of local taxis. Several restaurants nearby, including the excellent Nanny, and a few small shops. It’s on the south side of the island, but with a scooter, caution, and a good helmet, you’ll love this beautiful, quiet spot. The beach is very close with a magnificent sunset. The only downside was having to leave.

Clean, quiet, truly blackout curtains, great pool, fast Wi‑Fi. Scooter rentals are reasonably priced. Everything went well; we would have liked to stay longer, but it was all booked.
