Clean. Possibly newly built. I would like a fan in the bathroom and would like the tub to stay filled all the time, even if it costs extra.

The staff were friendly, and the personal area was well protected, so I never had to share a booking with other guests. However, finding the parking and the entrance was confusing.

Everything I needed was available, the room was very large, and the lounge was nice. On the downside, it felt quite empty and I got the impression of being an unwanted burden. We chose an inconvenient date (Wednesday, when everything in the village is closed). The online description made it seem like there was a restaurant on site, but in reality only instant meals are offered, and even those are reluctantly provided; you’re expected to drive into town for proper food.

Samenvatting van deze beoordeling
This Guest House is a solid choice if you’re planning to hike up Mt. Daisen; it’s close to the trailhead and very quiet because it’s a bit off the main road. The beds are simple but comfortable, and there are food options, which is handy since the shops and restaurants in the nearby village close early. Note that showers are shared (with an optional bath in some seasons), so it’s good to know that in advance if you’re not used to it. I would have liked to be able to stay in the common area after 10 pm (it’s quite cozy) or shower at any time, but those rules are understandable.
