The facilities are very pretty and the experience is perfect. The drawback is that there are no amenities; the vibe is mainly focused on the price paid. To meet any need at night we had to go down a level and everything. The food is at home. We know it’s a temple but offering what they provide for the stay and for food, they shouldn’t charge that absurd amount.

Amazing experience. Food was delicious. The morning ceremony was fascinating and the guided tour by a monk was brilliant. An experience we will remember for a long time. The onsen was great—very welcome after our 26 km hike to get there. We wish we had more time in Koyasan. The staff were very friendly and happy to provide chairs or stools for those of us too creaky to sit on the floor. It was great.

The atmosphere was spiritual, the staff extremely attentive, and the vegan food plentiful and tasty. Everything else was fine.

Sleeping in the temple was truly amazing and unique, and experiencing the night tour and morning ceremony was unforgettable – I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, my room had no window, which you can feel in the air quality, though that’s a very high‑level complaint.
