The accommodation was in a very beautiful spot, 100 m from the bank of the Rhine, and a short walk away you could admire the old town’s lovely buildings while strolling through the narrow winding streets. Tram transport was excellent and buses also ran often; France and Germany are reachable by train or bus because of the triple border.

“Barely doable”

The apartment sits in a handy spot with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and the space is decent for two people though it feels cramped with four. The host was hard to get a straight answer from, and I even got a scam‑type message asking for payment before arrival – customer service flagged it, but the host never responded. Inside, the shower was useless, the blinds were broken, the curtains too short, the kitchen was very basic and the hallway constantly smelled of food.

The location is the only redeeming feature – roughly 150 m from the Rhine promenade and only about 50 m to the nearest bakery. Everything else leaves a lot to be desired: mattresses are sagging or broken, the furniture looks worn out, the shower curtain is mouldy, the toilet flush is broken and the dishes are left dirty.

The room is simple and clean, which is fine, but the beds are overly soft and the bathroom feels really old.
