“Charmantes Hotel mit bester zentraler Lage”
The breakfast didn’t match the breadth of larger hotels on land, but it was excellent, fresh, and full of classic ingredients—from eggs to crispy bacon, fresh juices, cheese, and Jamón ibérico. The courtyard and rooms delivered on their promises: good AC and a perfect location. The restaurant offered a superb menu, and the courtyard bar mixed creative drinks and cocktails. The staff there were charming, courteous, gave great city tips, and crafted personalized cocktail recommendations beyond the standard menu. There were hardly any negatives. A single cockroach slipped into the bathroom, but that’s hard to avoid in the South. Perhaps the price could justify a few more perks, like bathrobes or room service, given the romantic old‑town palace vibe and the modern, shaded patios of the surrounding houses. In summer, a water dispenser or filter in the hallway would be welcome, so guests don’t have to haul everything from the kiosk. Standard 1.5‑liter bottles never fit in the hotel refrigerators, and the “still, de‑chlorinated” water the cleaning lady offers in a 0.7‑liter bottle doesn’t even taste like water.
