The hotel feels a bit tired and could use a refurbishment, but it’s generally good value for money.
“Staff member Sakina was extremely rude and border line aggressive.”
Staff member Sakina was extremely rude. I booked and paid extra for a bigger room as my husband and I were travelling with our baby and our dog so wanted ample space for the travel cot. Upon arriving, Sakina asked me to sign a form that stated a different room to which I had booked. I questioned this and she assured me it was the correct room. Upon entering the room I could clearly see it was a completely different room to what I had booked. I immediately went back to Sakina who told me that a previous staff member had given away our room and that now she can only offer me 2 separate rooms. This resolution was completely ridiculous! Why would a family of 3 want to be in two separate rooms. It was late and our baby needed to go to bed. I’ve worked in hotels before and understand mistakes happen. I said to Sakina, I would be ok to keep the room we have been given if she could give us complimentary breakfast in the morning. She said no and said i will give you the room you have booked which was even more confusing considering she told me this was previously not available. Sakina’s attitude was appalling and I personally would never stay or recommend this hotel. From start to finish, check in took over an hour which included me waiting 15 mins while Sakina finished a personal call. Everything!
everything was good staff were welcoming and friendly, no complaints. what I didn'd like was that my room had only 1 double socket on the dressing table which was quite annoying having to unplug every time we needed to use something different. no bed side electrical sockets or usb chargers. head boards already have light switches on either side surely a usb charger on either side could be added
The location was good and the exterior looked nice. The hotel room was clean but old. The windows didn’t close well, letting in cold air and noise. They didn’t clean while we were there. On the second night I went back and the room smelled of weed… ew.
“Have gone to this hotel for over 45 years-how it has declined and some of the guests were appalling. Service terrible ,”
The location suited our needs, but the bedroom was dirty—cigarette packets under the bed weren’t cleaned, there was no toilet brush, loud construction started at 7.30 am, and the reception and bar service were poor. Some parts were dated.
