I liked the free bar and the onsen, but the hotel feels overly strict now and isn’t as friendly as before. Check‑in starts at 3 pm—don’t try to arrive at 2:55. The rooms are tiny, even by Japanese standards.

The hotel is close to the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, just a short walk to Donki, Lawson, and FamilyMart. It’s very clean, smells nice, and uses a password lock—no key card needed. The TV has Netflix and YouTube, and logging in is super easy. The bathroom is a bit small, so be careful not to hit the tub when using it.

I absolutely loved staying at Super Hotel Ikebukuro; the lobby pillow selection let me pick a pillow that matched my preferences, which was a thoughtful touch that made my sleep even better. The onsen was fantastic, the rooms were spotless, and the staff were very friendly, making the whole stay enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring Tokyo—just a short walk from the station, so getting around is a breeze. I felt the value was great; the price is surprisingly low for the level of quality and comfort, almost like a 4‑star experience rather than a 3‑star. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo. The only drawback was that Ikebukuro offers fewer nightlife options than Shinjuku or Shibuya; after about 23:00 most restaurants are closed, so late‑night dining is limited. Also, the USB cable they provided didn’t work, so I had to buy an adapter at a convenience store for my European charger.

Excellent location and not in the main, busy, and noisy area of Ikebukuro. Easy to reach from Ikebukuro station in a few minutes' walk. Lawson convenience store is just nearby and a Sugi drugstore is below the hotel. The Izakaya restaurant next to the hotel is open until 4:00 AM and lets you grab a late Oden meal. Don Quijote is also nearby if you need it. Nice Onsen. Very good breakfast. 200 yen for single use of washing machine + dryer. They have a free alcoholic bar at the evening and the coffee machine is available also in the evening. Nothing special. I do not recommend the area of Ikebukuro for families with children. It is a very busy area especially during night. Not sure how the "atmosphere" outside fits children. Couples or singles who like a busy night life will like this area
