The house is wonderful, with plenty of space and rooms in excellent condition. One of the rooms has many windows that let in a lot of light; at dawn the brightness can be overwhelming, and if you’re lazy it can be annoying because there’s no system to block all the windows.

The place felt completely set up with attention to the smallest details, the kitchen was fully equipped with IKEA gear, a microwave, an ironing board, a dishwasher and cleaning supplies, and it even gave the impression that I was the first person to live in the cabin, complete with a fireplace and firewood; the staff were wonderful, and when I asked the owner to lower the temperature and leave the remote by the door because I was staying away from the cabin while one of my kids had a fever, he did so, and after I checked out a credit‑card company called to let me know.

The wooden villa looked nice but wasn’t very practical, a big water jug in the fridge and shampoo in the showers would have made things better; the host ignored messages and replied late, which irritated us, there was no air‑conditioning so the bedrooms got hot and sweaty at the start of summer, and the blankets were short, tangled and uncomfortable to wrap ourselves in.

The property sits near the main road and just a kilometer from the slope, with a smaller one about 100 m away that’s pricey for what it offers. The house itself is wonderful, delivering far more than expected. The host was grumpy and slow to reply; when we arrived he was upset with the previous guests for not sorting the trash. The city tax had to be paid in local currency, and we had none, so we bought it in Krakow. He didn’t provide real alternatives. The place is beautiful, but a warmer welcome would make it even better, though he might have just had a bad day.
