The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making the place feel like home. If you want to be in town, the guesthouse is a bit of a drive away, so plan for that. Aside from the distance, it’s a good spot to stay.

Very cosy and friendly guesthouse with helpful staff. It was super convenient for exploring the north of the island, especially Shirashima Coast. Remember the island has limited public transport and few shops or restaurants, so bring your own transport if you don’t. The next day I took a local bus, visited Mizuwakasu Shrine, and had a great lunch at Kokage café next to the Goka Sosei-kan Museum.

A guesthouse in a small village about twenty minutes from the main town. It’s essential to have a car to explore all the island’s beauty. The place is very clean and well kept, with a pleasant family atmosphere. The hosts kindly helped us book a local restaurant and gave plenty of advice.
