Bae Abermaw Hotel, perched on Barmouth’s coast, offers free parking and sweeping views of the Mawddach Estuary and harbour. Guests enjoy a bar, garden lounge, and light, airy rooms with en‑suite bathrooms, TV, and sea‑view windows. The golden beach lies five minutes away, while Snowdon and nearby golf courses are within an hour’s drive.

We enjoyed a view over the estuary, which stayed lovely even when it rained during part of our stay. Walking into town for bars and restaurants was easy, though the hotel sits on a steep hill—a fact we were aware of and accepted.

The view from our room itself wasn’t great, but the landing window and the outside of the hotel offered lovely sights. Breakfast was superb, the service excellent, and the room was lovely. We arrived to a cold room and were told the heating would be turned on later; a small fan heater in the room helped. Wi‑Fi was only available in the downstairs lounge and bar. For the price we paid, this was disappointing. They knew about the issue, but we should have been informed beforehand given what we were charged.
