There were many different ways to relax: a hammock, a swimming pool, a lounge area facing the sunset. Hot coffee was available all day, compliments of Don Javier. The mosquito nets over the beds were not very aesthetic but they were highly appreciated. There was no key to the room so it’s always open.

I had problems with the shower: it didn’t heat up, and the water came out freezing cold and the pool too. The kitchen was a negative.

The view from my room was fantastic, and the spot felt perfect for just kicking back. The place itself is lovely for a little getaway. Only downside was the kitchen – it could have been a bit cleaner.

The scenery was absolutely stunning and the whole area blended nicely with the surrounding nature. I loved how peaceful it felt. Unfortunately, there was no hot water, which was a real inconvenience.

This hostel is packed with plants, hammocks and tiny nooks that feel like a mini jungle, plus hummingbirds and butterflies fluttering around and a couple of super friendly cats. The sunrise from the veranda is something else, and the host was genuinely helpful. I booked a single room but ended up with a spacious double for the same price, and the outdoor kitchen came in handy.
