“Paisagem exuberante, silêncio, paz, conforto.. tudo o que esperávamos!”
The lodge and the chalets are beautiful and face the Serra da Canastra, close to good waterfalls like Casca D'anta, Chinela, and Lavrinha. The hosts are very attentive and helpful. There’s a shared container where you can store larger items in a fridge or freezer (that won’t fit in the chalet’s mini‑fridge) and you can try the coffee produced on the property. The chalet is very cozy and comfortable. The bed and bath linens were impeccable—clean, soft, and fragrant. On the first night we found and killed a medium spider in the room… that was fine. On the second day another larger one was under a laundry basket. Research said it was a female with a litter of non‑venomous babies, and you’re advised not to hit it so the babies don’t escape. We killed it with poison, and soon another large one appeared on the curtain that looked like the male (probably disturbed by the poison). Shortly after, a third smaller spider appeared in the bathroom (probably a baby). All this left us a bit tense about sleeping, since we found four spiders. It’s “normal” being in the woods, but a periodic pest control inside and around the chalets would help keep other creatures out.
