The owner was very attentive and friendly. We had some trouble with mobile data before arriving and were worried about getting lost as the sun was setting. Luckily, the owner and his friend were looking out for us and found us just in time when we were asking around the village for the campsite. Overall, the experience was completely positive, though the breakfast included in the price had limited options.

The spot in the city centre was great. However, the breakfast on the terrace was freezing cold.

We had no positives. We trusted the completely wrong 9.3 rating on Booking. We booked four rooms and asked for breakfast upon arrival, but none was prepared and only three rooms were ready. The fourth was taken by the guard, so we had to split up in Ziguinchor to find a restaurant and another place to stay that night.

Overall, it was a decent stay. I loved the village vibe, everyone was super welcoming, and walking around after dark felt safe, which is a big plus. The camp had adorable dogs and the huts were comfortable. They really tried to communicate with my non‑French speaking self. If you’re after an authentic experience, you’ve found it. The food was a bit basic, even by Senegalese standards, but it’s an African village after all.
