Our short holiday in Hohegeiß in the Harz was lovely; the location was ideal for hikes and exploring the surrounding area. The hosts were very friendly, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was lovingly prepared. After a long day of walking, I appreciated that the inn was still open in the evening. We’ll definitely return.

“Als kurzfristige Unterkunft okay, wir werden jedoch nicht mehr buchen.”

The staff were generally friendly and the breakfast was good. As a smoker, having a balcony in the room is a key factor for me; after a long day I also don’t want a window directly on the street. Yet, despite the booking confirmation stating my choice, I received neither a garden room nor one with a balcony. The worst part were the excuses, such as the platform claiming I was a non‑smoker or that I should have written in advance to get a balcony. Stop lying! My confirmation listed a balcony with garden view, so I expected that. Additionally, both duvet covers were damaged, the lamps didn’t work, and everything felt very old. They tried to compensate with friendliness.

“Schöne Zimmer in toller Lage”

A nice house in a great location. The breakfast was good and plentiful. We were accommodated according to our requests. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean, and offered a wonderful view of the Harz. The restaurant, however, is only average. If the kitchen improves, the house would be a hidden gem.

“Ein sehr schönes und ruhig gelegenes Hotel. Wir hatten einen angenehmen Aufenthalt.”

The location is very nice and quiet. Our room was roomy, cozy, with a large balcony and beautiful view. There was a lovely breakfast area (the hotel’s restaurant). The breakfast itself was very simple, with unfortunately limited choices. The very friendly staff brought it to our table. At the end of our stay, the host offered a good bottle of wine and helped us carry our luggage to the car. Great service! The Wi‑Fi was available, but contrary to the description, it was not in the breakfast area. The breakfast selection was very clear, but we would have liked more sustainability. The cleaning of our room was not as we had hoped; the bathroom especially needed a deeper clean and occasional replacement of everyday items.
