The house and gardens are stunning; we especially liked Marloes’ welcome and Paolo’s kindness at breakfast in the old chapel. We’ll return gladly.

It was a pleasure staying in a uniquely renovated building that feels authentic without being over‑the‑top, yet still comfortable. The location in a small, well‑preserved village and the ability to swim in the Allier within a 15‑minute walk were great. The overall atmosphere felt a bit too fancy, with new‑age background music at breakfast that didn’t quite match the place; a bit more simplicity would help.
