“All was good in the end.”
The property was lovely and central to everything, with a nice clean modern feel and environment. We arrived on Saturday evening for a four‑night stay after a five‑hour train from Puglia. After navigating the somewhat tricky multiple‑door remote access (which was fine), we showered. The entire room was clean and lovely, but the bathroom—also clean and lovely—had no window or natural light. It had one smoked‑glass mirror with two lights on either side, and decorative lighting around the perimeter of the room at eight feet up. One of the only light bulbs was missing from the fixture next to the mirror, making it hard to see your face—dark. We immediately contacted the on‑call manager, GIO, who told us there was no way he could fix it until Monday because it was a special bulb that required a technician and he could not buy a bulb because everything would be closed until Monday. He expected us to be without light until Monday and that was their business—hospitality. We almost believed him, but after investigating we found it was a regular bulb that had never been replaced. We asked where we could buy one. After pushing hard on them, someone other than GIO responded and said they had bulbs in the warehouse, and they delivered one to us Sunday morning, allowing us to install it. I felt somewhat misled by their reluctance to go the extra mile. The experience could have been avoided, especially since the room was left with an issue.
