“Hébergement avec hôtes exceptionnels.”
The host Liza was exceptional. The bathroom was shared, but that was clearly stated.

Staying with Lisa, the host, in this beautifully decorated manor house was a unique experience. Lisa is a real artist—music and dance—and she gave us great tips for exploring nearby castles and churches. A hike along the natural Maas was the highlight of the trip. We were so thrilled that we extended our stay by one night.

It was a bit off the beaten path, with an extraordinary and interesting setup that you can’t compare to a hotel. The host Lisa is very friendly, speaks German, and is attentive to requests.

The welcome was very warm – a beautiful old gentleman's house with soul – and the host had great stories to share. The only downside is you have to drive a few kilometers to get a drink or a meal.

The place is a village in the middle of nowhere that fills France. The house surprises with its size, its good condition despite its age, its huge rooms and somewhat outdated but effective comfort with a few exceptions. The bedding smells like old times; comfortable, it gave me an excellent night. The secure parking is absolute in a huge barn with a roof in perfect condition. The least annoying thing is not the owner. Dutch, a bit rough but with a rare freedom of communication, mentality, and thought. The music – classical but varied – that the owner loves animates the whole house. When we met Lisa, we never forgot her soon after; neither did the dog Socrate. The cuisine – on request – turns out tasty and excellent: the peanut paste and beaten milk loved by the Batavians have been replaced by a proper French dish that the owner speaks French perfectly – as well as English and German – with a rare sense of nuance. Lisa is a real discovery in herself, surprising at first glance. On the negative side: the shared bathroom – inevitable in a building of this age. The shower cabin: its narrow entrance and the controls that would not be scandalized to see replaced. The towels and toilet gloves provided are impeccable in cleanliness and efficiency. The absence of a water bottle in the room. Last but not least: in case of a mismatch between reservations received from Booking and the payments made, it is up to the visitor to figure it out. The owner refuses to care, even with proof, without her integrity being questioned in any way.
