The hotel is right on the harbor. The rooms feel like they’re from another era, there’s no double bed, and the age of the bathrooms was the biggest annoyance.

We had stayed here before, so we knew what to expect from the hotel’s facilities. We chose it because it sits right next to the Puttgarden‑Rodby ferry terminal and we had booked the crossing for the next morning. However, this time we could only pay in cash; the digital payment system was down that day. As compensation, we received a free drink of our choice at the bar.

Checking in was very straightforward and hassle‑free. We were only there for one night, and that was absolutely sufficient. The location is fantastic, right on the ferry pier.

The description of the place was terrible. There was no restaurant in the hotel, so you had to find a place to eat elsewhere. The breakfast, priced at €12.90, was not worth the money. I will never book this hotel again; I am completely disappointed and unsure if I will stay here again.

The room was very clean, and it was heated, so you didn’t have to step into an ice hole. We were very satisfied for the one night we stayed there, especially since we were traveling with a dog to spend New Year’s Eve. The mattresses were extremely soft, the bathroom fixtures were a bit corroded and old, and we didn’t even have toilet paper—fortunately we brought wet wipes just in case.
