Situated above Berchtesgaden, the place is very quiet with a great view of the Watzmann; the bus stop is right outside the door and can be used free with the guest card, so you can leave the car parked. The staff are friendly and the rooms are modern, fully equipped, and I felt very comfortable. The only downside is that breakfast starts at 8 am, which is inconvenient for early‑rising guests who want to start the day earlier; 7:30 am would fit better with the bus schedules.

The guest rooms have been freshly renovated—tastefully designed, well‑coordinated in colour, modern and pleasant, with beautiful, high‑quality bedding. Plenty of wood is used in a modern way instead of Bavarian kitschy carvings. The balcony view is dreamy! The breakfast buffet is generous, and the brätkartoffeln served at the music evening are delicious. The only issue is the location directly on the slope, which can be challenging: either steep downhill or steep uphill. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.

The location is magnificent and the room is nice, tidy, and spacious, complete with a balcony and a wonderful view. The restaurant is available, and parking at the hotel is free. The drive up is quite a climb, but it’s worth it. It’s good to know the restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday, though there are alternatives nearby.

The location, the food, and the very friendly service are positives. The rooms are modern but not practical—there’s no toothbrush holder, no drawers, and no fridge. If you arrive a bit later, there’s nothing to drink, so you’re forced to buy water or other drinks at Rewe or Edeka. We also didn’t receive water on arrival day, and the bed was only made once during the four nights.
