I was a single woman staying in a co‑ed room with strange guests (addicts); I had to move to another hostel for safety after hearing that they had been renting there for years because there was no “check‑in control and no one on the premises.” It’s unsafe, and I want to report this somewhere.

Got a quick reply from the owner, which was a plus, but the place was almost fully booked according to the listing—yet I was the only one (and a second guest) staying there. The owner kept smoking in the bathroom, giving me a headache on the first night, so I had to leave.

The experience was a nightmare. I received no instructions on how to get to the apartment. When I finally called the owner, communication was tough because he barely spoke Polish; texting worked better because he could translate messages. After the call, I got an SMS with a code for a keybox, but the box had no key. A second keybox was sent, containing a single key that let me enter the apartment, but another key was needed for the room and it was missing. After more calls and texts, the owner admitted that the previous tenant had lost a key and I had to wait for someone else staying in the same room to return and let me in. From the first attempt to get into the apartment to finally accessing the room, it took about 2–3 hours. Tragedy.

The bed creaked loudly throughout the room, so I had to move to the kitchen to sleep in the middle of the night. Luckily there was a sofa there.

This hostel is top quality, with wide and comfortable beds, clean sheets and towels, and a large, functional kitchen where you can cook—everything from pans to pots is available. It’s close to Lidl and Carrefour, near a bus stop, and offers free parking. The only downside is there’s no elevator, but that’s not a problem for me.
