The place was big and clean, and parking was free. The location wasn’t ideal. The owner was friendly over the phone, but I would have preferred him to be physically present when we arrived, rather than handling everything through a call on the first day.
Air conditioning, location, and functionality were all spot on. Nothing to add.
The quiet side street and street parking right outside the door made the place feel tidy, and the kitchen was well equipped with a big fridge, espresso machine, and a good bathroom. During our stay a huge storm caused a power outage, so we had to rely on the emergency lighting. The check‑in was done over the phone with a very friendly host; if you don’t have an Italian SIM, let them know in advance. The house around the apartment needs some renovation in spots, and walking to Ortigia takes about 10‑20 minutes depending on your pace. The bathroom is pretty dark, and our room opened onto a courtyard where someone was often shouting; at least we learned some new Italian swear words.
