The service was very friendly, the breakfast great, the room quiet, and I’d gladly return. The restaurants in Friedrichroda’s city center are a bit too far on foot after a long hike, so that’s the only downside.

Breakfast was good, the bed was clean, and I slept well. The accommodation was very basic in a DDR‑style charm, and the bedding was already quite worn.

We were self‑catering, except on the first day. That day’s breakfast was good and ample. The pension was flexible. Nothing else.

The location is good for the Rennsteig. The staff are very nice. Breakfast is completely adequate. The rooms are standardly equipped, and it’s a good stay for those hiking the Rennsteig.
