“Accueil au top, ambiance magique: le lieu porte bien son nom de « Grand Paradis »!”

The setting is gorgeous and the rooms tucked up in the farmhouse are tiny yet really cozy and spotless. Staff greeted us with genuine warmth and the breakfast, packed with local goodies, was fantastic – watching the huskies pull their sleds past the dining table was a real treat. The only downside was my mattress, which was a bit sunken and gave my back a little grief, though my travel companions slept fine.

The spot is perfect for unplugging and really lets you soak up the whole experience. Our host was friendly, attentive, and even pointed us toward a regional festival that turned out to be a highlight. I just wish we’d gotten a chance to hang out with them a bit longer to learn more about the mushers and their huskies.

Staying in a barn right in the middle of the meadows and woods of Gran Paradiso was absolutely wonderful – the room was charming and the breakfast superb. The owner was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home, so I’d recommend this place without hesitation.

The building itself is stunning and the snowy landscape around it feels magical, with ski lifts just a short walk away. Unfortunately, the room is cramped, lacks a table or any luggage space, and there’s no shared spot for a picnic or basic kitchen facilities like a fridge or microwave, which makes the thin breakfast feel more symbolic than functional. The nighttime howling of the dogs can be a problem for light sleepers, and given all that, the price feels a bit steep.
