“Amazing place to stay and enjoy the serenity and sky above!”
A stargazing paradise for anyone who loves the night sky; the observatory sits in a quiet corner of Minami Aso and a narrow road leads straight to it. The evening planetarium tour is free, very informative and engaging, and then you get to see the second‑largest telescope in Kyushu. The staff are friendly and know the sky inside out. The room feels more like a spacious studio with a large bathroom. Breakfast was tasty, and overall it was amazing—I’d definitely return!
The stay was incredible and far surpassed what I expected; I was just planning to pass through for a bed but ended up getting the most amazing observatory tour from exceptionally qualified guides. Their stories were amazing, and I still talk about them on trips around the world.
“とても良い経験ができ、素敵な思い出です。”
The experience was moving, and the food was good. The room had many bugs, and the bath was cold.
“Zimmer waren in Ordnung- Bad leider nicht”
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were welcomed warmly. Everything was rustic and lovingly decorated. We were satisfied with breakfast and received attentive service. On our day it was very hot, we came in sweaty from motorcycle riding and still a bit shaken from the earthquake we experienced. The bathroom was warm, and only after showering did I notice the warm ventilation and the dark wall. Normally we would have requested a room change, but the wall issue—moisture and…—needs to be fixed.
“Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass alles etwas pragmatischer / einfacher gehandhabt wird - wobei man die Bemühungen de”
The delicious dinner followed by a starry night (view through the telescope and lying under the sky) pleased us. The cleanliness in the first room was lacking, so we had to switch rooms, but fortunately that was possible.
