“Cheap and very cheerful!”
The property is about what you’d expect for its low price! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean when we arrived, Ann was lovely on the phone and responded quickly. The location is great, literally a 5/6‑minute walk from Walking Street but far enough away to be quiet at night. (The family next door are also very nice and their cats are cute.) There wasn’t much we “didn’t like,” just a few things to note – the photos are very old. I booked this place because it looked, from the pictures, like a nice middle ground between a social environment and not crazy parties like other hostels… but I’m pretty sure we were the only people there, haha! Again, not a problem, we still had a nice stay, but there is no bar as advertised and the common area is totally different now and honestly a bit run down. Another thing to note if you book here: the walls are so thin. We didn’t find it a big issue because 1) as I said there was no one else there, haha, and 2) we’re both heavy sleepers. So if you’re a light sleeper in the busy season, maybe bring ear plugs.
