Everything was lovely, bright, and clean, the bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped (we even went to the nearby supermarket to cook dinner), there was a Nespresso machine, chocolate fish, and a bottle of “real” milk, the toiletries were good quality, the owner was very friendly, and it’s easy to find on the main road into town, with nothing to complain about.

The family‑run business was super friendly, and it was amazing to find such a feel‑good, old‑school Kiwi operation; if you come with the right attitude, you’ll feel like you’re staying with friends! Simon seemed like a good‑sort Kiwi, nothing was too much of a bother, and we sorted it out—though I had no problems during my two stays in one week, so I highly recommend it. The road is a bit busy, but I guess all NZ motels have to be on a busy road to be noticed—nature of the beast.
