The signage was poor, especially at night, and there were no proper signs or maps for the villa, restaurant, or reception area, which made me feel lost.

“Facilities were very tired, but staff were helpful.”

The location was great for us to spend a night while exploring the northern part of Cebu, but the resort is extremely run down and does not meet international standards; the owners need to invest in the facilities.

The staff were friendly, the waterfront location offered good views, the massages and spa were enjoyable, and the bed was comfortable, but the building is tired and needs maintenance. When taking a bath, a terrible sewage smell came from the overflow drain; walking around the horse stables/petting zoo looked drab and overgrown; bathroom towels were aged and marked; we had many mosquitoes and cockroaches in our room that came from the bathroom drains; the restaurant lacked variety, some meals were unavailable, and what was ordered didn’t taste that good.

We had a fantastic time at Kandaya Resort; we stayed in a spacious villa in a green oasis of trees, plants, and flowers just a short walk from the nice beach and sea. The entire complex was laid out spaciously, so privacy was ideal. The villa had all conveniences, a large well-equipped bathroom, and even a seat by the opening doors to enjoy the garden and view. The complex was well maintained. The staff were super friendly and helpful: at the beach for watersports and also in the restaurant, nothing was too much for them. In short, we couldn’t have wished for a better vacation.
