“Basic but fine for a couple of nights.”
A plain room, but it was still comfy. The staff handed us a map and a quick rundown of Avignon, noting that the city center is a ten‑minute walk away and packed with bars, restaurants, the Palace de Papes, and that famous bridge. The hotel doesn’t serve dinner, but breakfast offers the usual bread, croissant, pain au chocolat, a modest selection of cheeses and ham, dried fruit, cereals, and an unexpectedly good range of teas, coffee, orange and grapefruit juice made from concentrate. Parking was a stroke of luck: a car had just pulled out, so we could park right outside, and a sign marked us as guests; we left the car there for two nights. We had booked a parking spot but didn’t pay for it because we didn’t use it. I’d recommend booking parking in advance. The hotel isn’t a luxury spot, but it matched the price. The bedside lamp was broken and was replaced without hassle. The room had no kettle and you had to ask for a hairdryer.
