The male waiter was okay, but the female waiter had a grim face and seemed to feel she was owed eight hundred yuan, acting resentful. In the morning she rushed into the female washroom and spoke loudly; it felt like the best we could do was stay silent. I’m not sure if it was aimed at Chinese people, but she definitely spoke in a way that seemed directed at us. Honestly, if you’re not good at service, don’t force yourself; both you and the guests will suffer.

The sleeping area was clean and comfortable. The hostel’s location is great, right in the old town.

I stayed at Hostel Jeal in the city center and was completely thrilled! The administrator is a young guy who organized everything quickly and clearly. He handled the transfer, check‑in, and gave us tips on where to go—no extra questions. The people living in the hostel are very pleasant, creating a homey and friendly atmosphere. The location is super—everything is within walking distance. The center is 5 minutes away, and there are cafés and shops nearby. It’s clean, cozy, and safe. For the price and the treatment, it’s a perfect 10 out of 10! I’ll definitely come back again. Thanks to the Jeal team!

The spot is fantastic, right in the heart of Batumi’s best area, surrounded by great bars and restaurants. The beds were super comfy, clean, and came with privacy curtains. The guy at reception seemed less than happy we were there, far from the classic Georgian hospitality you’d expect. The building itself feels oppressive and everyone seems unwilling to stay. The communal area is nice, but in a full hostel there’s only one sofa, always taken by what we assumed were permanent residents, which isn’t enough. Bathroom cleanliness was lacking and toilet paper was constantly missing. The cleaner was aggressive and appeared very angry that the place was always messy. The fridge was full of food that needed to be thrown out, so the communal area always smelled. The balcony offers an amazing view but has no comfortable seating and definitely no hammocks like those in the pictures.
