The staff were super attentive and helped us with directions and returns; the place is a beautiful eco‑hotel, but we would have liked to know about the 5 % surcharge for card payments on both the hotel and consumptions, and the seafood platter at the restaurant seemed a bit pricey for the portion.

The spot is amazing, right on the sea, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and the food is great! Wait times were very long when eating (sometimes over an hour and a half for a rice dish). The room is tiny, no air‑conditioning, and the bathroom is even smaller.

Barú is the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited in Colombia. Mar Barú Beach House sits in a calm, relaxed area with very white sand and turquoise crystal‑clear waters. It’s a peaceful hotel, the staff are extremely kind, and the restaurant food is excellent. The black post (posta negra) I tried here is the best dish I’ve had in Colombia, and the Colombian snacks are absolutely recommended. In short, both the hotel and its location are highly recommended. The breakfast was very limited, consisting only of eggs and bread. More variety would have been nice, but aside from that everything was perfect.

The area is incredibly peaceful if you’re after a few quiet days, and you can walk or swim rightward to even calmer spots; right in front of the hotel the sea is shallow and easy to enter. The facilities look beautiful, the service is exceptional and the food is delicious. They helped me arrange a surprise for my wife and I was 1000 % satisfied. The whole team is extremely kind, empathetic and friendly—Roxana took care of everything, from diving and airport transfers (JOSE was very courteous and punctual, giving a running commentary of the sights) to a romantic dinner, décor to my taste, tours, etc. The rooms were spotless, the showers had fresh water, and it’s one of the best hotels around, ranking in our top 3. Even though the surrounding area sees a lot of tourists, the hotel itself feels quiet and exclusive. We loved everything—thanks a lot! Nothing was wrong; everything was perfect, so much so that we extended our stay.
