Wow, what an amazing and beautiful place! A hidden boutique gem right in nature, with tiny songbirds, incredible vegetation, squirrels, monkeys, and of course a Horenbill bird that gives the hotel its name, yet it’s only a short walk from the main street, restaurants, and the lake. We spent four nights of endless pampering. The rooms are very beautiful, spacious, air‑conditioned, well‑furnished, very comfortable, with cozy beds and balconies into nature, and one even had a kitchenette where they cooked a meal for us one evening. The bathrooms are very pleasant. Our cabin had a fantastic jacuzzi that we used a lot. Above all, the staff—Shashika and Athula—are delightful, wonderful, and generous, attending to every need and difficulty, even outside of sleeping. Breakfast is very varied, the staff are especially attentive and happy to offer different options. We were thrilled by the special gluten‑free dishes they prepared, which our daughters loved throughout the stay. There is no doubt we’ll return. We loved everything. It’s a wonderful place.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and extensive. The location and pool did not meet our expectations; the pictures promised a larger pool. We did not receive the accommodation we had booked. The outdoor bathroom had no insect protection.

We cannot praise Shashika and Athula enough for creating a little piece of heaven in Habarana. Yes, the rooms are amazing, the facilities carefully designed by an architect, and you feel like you are living inside the forest, but without their relentless effort and hospitality the place would not be what it is. We've traveled around the island and this is by far the best breakfast you will ever have. Everything is freshly prepared - you will always get a giant fruit bowl, followed by a main course that changes every day (pancakes, french toast, traditional sri lankan cuisine .). I highyl recommend this hotel
